the view from here

here i am, almost 6 days in to our new adventure.  it was a LONG 4 days of packing, loading, moving, unpacking, and repeating.  add to that moving into a house that wasn't cleaned before we moved into it, sleeping 3 nights on uncomfortable couches, and a fire alarm system that decided to go off 2 nights in a row...at 3:30 a.m....

but the ways in which we are growing and learning along with the man we are caring for have been awesome.  his transition is going well too, for which we are incredibly thankful.  he makes us laugh each morning, pretending to help us sweep the floor and then sneakily poking us with the broom instead.  we watch train movies every day and watch the trains roll by our backyard.  our dog frollicks around the back yard and i am watching the robins gather with the coming of spring (finally!).

this morning, Evan said to me "i love waking up with a sense of purpose".  he made us a delicious, hearty breakfast and was whistling when i stumbled out of the bedroom.  i am feeling rather exhausted, with several more school and work projects to finish in addition to learning our new routine.  but i am continually rejuvenated by the promise of learning something new each day and giving of myself to others.

the view from here is good.
