plans...

planner schmanner....

some days i really hate using my planner.

especially after the last 2 seasons of my life, working set hours at jobs that i really loved, which gave me the freedom to go climb Colorado mountain peaks when i wasn't working...

but alas, i am retreating to using my planner somewhat religiously the next few weeks. it's getting filled with reminders of western civ readings, theology quizzes, a latin american culture research paper, voice class rehearsals and finals...

and more importantly, scheduling coffee dates with people who have taught me so much in my 4 1/2 years at this strangely dutch, conservative college...

that i will miss terribly when i am finished...

at my last band concert last night, i did a lot of reflecting on how much this place has shaped me and changed me and exposed me to beautiful and challenging ideas. i thought a lot about our band tour to chihuahua, mexico, and how much that influenced my desire to use music in schools, churches, nursing homes, homeless shelters, and hospitals to transform people's everyday experiences to a connection with God and beauty...

two good high school friends came to visit last night for my band concert and also a concert that i played with 2 college friends at our campus café. it was so great to spend time with zach and brittney and play with bottlerocket and freebird. we played music by U2, ingrid michaelson, sara groves, and denison witmer. i got to debut one of my songs and one that i collaborated on with bob, my good friend from Estes Park.

planning to move to Rapid City in about 2 months to live with Candi! it feels good to have made a decision... no jobs yet, but i would love to work at a restaurant or coffee shop for a few months to start paying off student loans and have the time outside of work to read, play piano at churches & coffee shops, and do some outdoor adventuring with Candi and Evan!

Abba Father, please continue to light the way... i'm so thankful for the small things You daily bless me with that i often disregard.
